These are my Standard 3 students! Cute?  Let me just introduce these 9-year olds to you all la...

There were 3 new students who will be joining us today! That means more money to me! Hehehe...

Let's start with the one at the top left. He's one them, new!  He's an Eurasian and his name is Ignatious Armalanesh Carvalho. Cool name huh? His last name sounds so Brazilian! CarvalhO... RonaldO... RivaldO... RonaldinhO... But I didn't get to find out his origin because the whole class were out of control due to so many new faces. Funny har? I thought when there's stranger, you'll behave nicely. Not them, they just went berserk! Kept asking me why so many new students. Didn't get to know Ignatious much but I presume he's a quiet guy from the way he speaks.

Then the boy in yellow, second from the left is Jing Hoong. He's new too! You can tell from the picture why both of them stood some distance from the crowd eh? He's from Lai Meng School. So, that means he's chinese speaking lor... Phew! Had such a hard time teaching him today. He can't understand English and Bm well. So I had to explain in Cantonese BUT his Cantonese also half a bucket of water only! Haiyo! So, had to seek help from Elaine to help me translate! Elaine? I'll talk about her later ok? Almost all of them know Mandarine! Luckily I can understand! I may not speak very good Mandarine but I can understand. Jing Hoong is new, so didn't get to find out much also... He's quite cute looking for a boy.  Got very innocent and kind look. I think he will be the most KUAY student in the class.

The boy in the middle kneeling down one is Yi Weng. Before today, he's the only boy in the class. Poor kid... always alienated by the girls but he's ok la. Coz he's that kind that never cares much. Always daydream and plays with himself. His favourite game is Throwing Eraser Up In The Air and see if he could catch it. Yes, that's his game! He doesn't talk much... still couldn't find out what that can catch his attention. Have to give him a kick or two to push him to do work.

Now the red girl, 2nd from the right is Zi Hui and the most right one is Poh Ling. These two are best friends. They sit together, discuss things together but don't share their answers together though.  Surprising huh? Really leh, their answers are different! They are the most responsive students!  Everything they don't know or not sure, they'll come ask me. They don't care about others laughing at them, they just ask and very willing to learn. There was this time, they don't how to draw a picture of their ambitions (lawyer) and they asked me to draw for them!  My goodness! Me? Drawing? Hahaha, but I did help to draw la...

Then the girl just below Zi Hui, in blue is Jia Hui. Nope, they are not sisters nor cousins. Just almost-similar names that's all. Jia Hui is new too! So can't tell you much about her. But notice her dreamy eyes? She looks quite sleepy or dreamy I don't know. Very chinese looking. Nothing wrong about that! Just some comments from her teacher ok?

Now the last row. The girl on the far right in pink and white is Qiao Xuan. She is hyper-active physically!  Always jumps and runs around! Very easily distracted and never pay attention to me. Always the last one to find out what to do when I give them any work. But poor girl... The whole class kinda hated her once,  coz they found out that she stole Elaine's pen. It happened in their English Class (not my class,  I'm teaching them BM!) But kids are not THAT revengeful la... Now, they've forgotten about the incident liow.  That reminds me how much we should learn from children! Oh, and one more thing about Qiao Xuan... she goes to the toilet EVERY WEEK not once, 2-3 times at least! Wonder why...

Ok, next. The 2nd one from the right is Roxeanne. She's a Chindian!  And I think she's the prettiest in the class. But she's very rebellious and rude!  Always go about 'what the this, what the that'. Always kena marah by me! She knows a lot, very clever girl. Tells a lot of jokes and stories to the whole class like a comedian.  Yea! She said she wanna be a comedian next time. Naughty girl! Always make fun of my name and do funny things. She's the monitor of the class also.  Don't know if it's a good idea of mine to elect her, she's so wild. But she knows when to stop when I change the tone of my voice la. Still under-control...

Next to Roxeanne is Emily (third from the right). She's the most studious. Reads a lot. Always ask for more works! All kinds of multi-different-character students in my class... I think she's very closed to her mum. She always talks about her mum. Her mum likes to dress her up also I think. There was this time she wore a Sari to tuition! She's one of the good students I have.

Finally, Elaine. I spent the most time with her because she's always early. So, she told me a lot of her stories especially about her holiday trips.  She's very rich I think. She got about RM 3000 of ang pau money during Chinese New Year!!! Can you believe that? 10 times more than what I got! Her family go for holiday every year... not once you know? 3-4 times a year! And it's all over the world! She just came back from Australia during the one week school holiday. Only one week of holiday! And she went to Australia...  Sigh, how I wish I could do the same. Okay, back to Elaine. She's generally a good girl la... but very SIU JEH PEI HEI yer... SUPER!  Once her mood swing comes, she'll not listen to anyone. This rich spoiled brat ar... Haha, so mean! She's nice la most of the time. She even got me a Koala bear and Kangaroo soft toys! Neh... those very common ones leh? You can clip them on your car rear mirror one ar? Ya, and she always belanja me sweets and chocolates almost every week.

So, that's all about my Standard 3 students except that Michelle didn't today. So, talk about her some other time le or maybe never? Don't think you guys are interested to know hor? Don't know why, just feel like telling you guys about them. Enjoy teaching them.  Just that sometimes they can drive you nuts.

Ok, better submit now... before my computer go crazy and restart itself and my whole updates will be gone!

Everybody! Meet Amanda Thng! My 6 months old niece!

Monday, March 01, 2004

Hurray! Finally!! I know how to load pictures into xanga liow!!! (and not the one in the profile) Don't believe, you can go to Jane's xanga and see! (funny har?!) Well, I don't really have any interesting pictures to share. Jane has! Some good sceneries of Australia! Hmmm, maybe I'll load my niece's pictures here! She's very cute! But naughty... Super naughty!!! And arrogant too! But she's still cute la...

Been trying to find out how to load the pictures. Asked Kiasu, he said it's quite complicated. Actually, it isn't THAT complicated. Wonder if it's because he thinks I'm too dumb to know these things about computer. Kia, hopefully you didn't think that way la har? Well, I have to admit that I'm very clueless when it comes to it. Anyway, thanks to Kevin Lee! He taught me how to do it! Thank you very much! (Kevin, I knew you were going to say that! That's why I didn't ask you to go look at the pictures when I've uploaded?! Again, cannot meh?)

Hmmm, what else do I wanna say eh? Ya, I really wanna share how much I benefited from yesterday's sermon. It was taken by Julius Wee. The topic was on Christian Living: Holiness. Ooh... sounds tough eh? But he was able to put into simple terms whatever he wanted to address. That's his style I would say. He talked about Moses and the burning bush. Why? You remember that part God saying, "take off your sandals for you are standing on holy ground"? Interesting points he brought out from this incident about holiness. Is the ground holy? What value does the ground has to be holy? The ground itself is not holy. How can it be holy? It's not a living thing BUT God is! God asked Moses to take off his sandals was for him to learn about reverence and obedience. That's the first step of becoming holy! I find it very interesting maybe I haven't thought of it before. Seriously, I learned a lot. Usually this topic is very subjective (that's what I thought) but he was able to put it in very practical terms to understand. I'm not sure I can put into words what I've learned. Still need to take some time to digest it. Haha, funny har? I talked so much but didn't share much about what I've learned. Just want to let you know how I feel about the sermon.

And next week CEP, we'll be having a worship session, a short one. This is because the topic we'll be dealing is 'The Order of Worship' I think? My notes not with me now! And and, you know what? Mr. Wong appointed some people to share hymns and prayer! And guess what? I'M the one who will be praying! Oh my... I was trying to hide myself from Mr. Wong's view but he caught me! Aiyah!!! Well, I guess it's not such a bad thing. It'll be a good training before I actually stand up and share in the real worship. Been hearing lots of requests from the sisters saying that every week the 'same old people' ... can we hear some new voices? So, pray for me ya? And pray for William and Jonathan Kuang too! Haha, coz both of them also were appointed to share a hymn. So do come to CEP and give us some supports! And don't laugh at us!

Hmmm, don't know what else to say... quite long eh? Enough la, save some for my next update next month! HAHAHA!!!!
